The Zero DSR Black Forest edition will be limited in numbers
Zero motorcycles revealed the Black Forest Edition of its naked electric motorcycle DSR. Featuring the quintessential adventure tourer design along with the attractive package of touring accessories, the Black Forest is a more touring focused edition of the Zero DSR adventure motorcycles.
To satisfy its touring nature, the Black Forest edition possesses long range in a charge. As claimed, it has the longest range as compared with any other electric touring bike with the figure of 250 km in traffic and 120 km on the highway. After getting fully drained, the battery is said to be fully charged in less than an hour time offering 150 km of range more.
All that energy comes from a 14.4 kWh battery which is capable of 149 Nm of torque. The absence of clutch and gear shifting should make for a seamless touring experience. Zero says the DSR Black Forest edition utilizes the new charge tank which has ‘the highest power and energy density battery tech in the EV industry.’
Talking about the looks, the Zero DSR Black Forest edition boasts of the aggressive design elements which make it look no less than the high-end combustion engine adventure tourers. The oval-shaped headlamp is flanked by sharp turn indicators and carries a large windscreen on top. The handle guards and high set front mudguard accentuate its touring nature while the optional large panniers give more convenience for carrying a huge pile of luggage.
Zero Motorcycles has started way too early to focus on introducing alluring electric bikes which makes it a potent player for the future. The DSR Black Forest edition will be on display starting from April 2018 but only in the European markets. Indians have to wait for the proper charging infrastructure to be implemented to see such motorcycles getting introduced in the country.
