After a long wait, the Yamaha Fazer 250 is finally all set for its arrival
Yamaha has circulated an invite which says a new product from the company is on its way which will arrive tomorrow that is on 21st August 2017. What else could it be except the Fazer 250 launch? For a few days now, we have seen various spy images of the motorcycle, earlier with the camouflage shroud and later in the production ready version. All these can be taken as a hint that the Japanese bikemaker won’t make us wait for too long for the Fazer 250.
It is completely built on the platform of ongoing Yamaha FZ25 which is a 250cc naked version of the 150cc FZ. It boasts of a distinctive front section which flaunts a fairing covering the whole engine. The headlamp highly depicts those of the FZ25 and carries a set of LED DRLs. Except for this, the whole cosmetics, from mid to rear end, is exactly similar to its naked version.
This is the first full-faired entry-level motorcycle from Yamaha for the Indian market which is different from those half-faired high-capacity FZ siblings sold internationally. As on the FZ25, the Yamaha Fazer 250 carries a 250cc motor which generates 20.9 PS of power at 8000 RPM and 20 Nm of peak torque at 6000 RPM and comes mated to a five-speed gearbox.
The exact pricing of the motorcycle will only be revealed after the Fazer 250 launch. However, looking at the aggressive pricing of the FZ25, we expect it to cost somewhere around Rs. 1.5 lakhs. For a 250c bike, this price is highly competitive but the low power delivery might take many riders away from it. Similar to its younger sibling, the Fazer 150, it is a motorcycle which can be used for city commuting as well as short distance touring.
