The Ducati SuperSport comes in two variants with a standard model and slightly advance S variant.
Ducati SuperSport bookings have been started at all the dealerships across India at the token amount of Rs. 1 to 2 lakhs. Among all the motorcycles available in the company’s line up, this was the only model not yet available for the Indian market. Contrary to the pure sports Panigale siblings, the Ducati SuperSport is a motorcycle which possesses both the qualities of a sportsbike as well as a tourer. It is available in two variants including a standard model which will be priced at around Rs. 12 lakhs and the SuperSport S which might demand a premium of Rs. 2 lakhs over the standard trim.
The Ducati SuperSport is a sports tourer in all aspects which can showcase its performance on the track and can be comfortably ridden on the highways on long hauls. The easy-to-reach clip-ons, wide seat and mid set footpegs make for a riding posture which can be sustained for a long time. Its windscreen for wind blow resistance is adjustable which is a boon for riders of any stature.
The design of the SuperSport highly depicts the Panigale 959 but gets an altered headlamp design and slightly different fairing. The seat is comparatively larger for suiting its purpose. The twin exhaust unit has been retained from the Panigale 959 along with various other bits. Underneath, the Ducati SuperSport straps a 937cc, L-twin Testastretta engine which churns out 112 PS of max power at 9,500 RPM and 93 Nm fo torque which comes into action at 6,500 RPM.
It is fairly advanced in terms of electronics carrying all the features for safety, convenience and flawless riding. Along with 3-level Bosch ABS and 8 level traction control, the SuperSport comes equipped with the ride-by-wire throttle, riding modes, fully adjustable Ohlins suspension and quick shifter.
The commencement of Ducati SuperSport bookings beckons all the riders looking for an accessible and comfortable motorcycle from the Italian bike giant. It will rival the likes of Kawasaki Ninja 1000 and the Suzuki GSX-R1000F.
