With the launch of the Bajaj Avenger 180, riders will get more options to choose in the affordable cruiser segment
Bajaj is all set to expand the lineup of its highly rated cruiser the Avenger. Going by the acquired images it appears the company is making the Avenger 180 ready for the India launch as the testing of the bike has already begun. The latest spy images obtained reveal the all-new graphics and paint scheme of the Street version of the Avenger. It differs from the ongoing Bajaj Avenger Street 150 and Street 220 as it carries fresh guise.
The price of the Bajaj Avenger 180 will be Rs. 10,000 lesser as compared to the Street 220. To come with the price tag of Rs. 83,400, the Bajaj Avenger 180 should make the deal sweeter for riders looking for a more accessible alternative over the Avenger Street 220. With the colour options of Red and Black, the Avenger 180 is reckoned to be launched in the coming few weeks.
Designwise, the Bajaj Avenger 180 mimics the newly launched Avenger Street version with a redesigned headlamp and tiny visor. The majority of body parts of the spotted bike look blacked out including metal guard, handlebar, exhaust, engine and a few other elements. All the latest Avenger bikes, including the 180cc version, carry the seats which are now more comfortable as compared to the earlier bikes.
The engine of the Bajaj Avenger 180 will be shared from the Pulsar 180, albeit in the cruiser-type gear ratio tuning. The powerplant is a 178.6cc single cylinder, air-cooled unit which produces 17 BHP of power and 14.2 Nm of torque. It comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The Bajaj Avenger 180 remains similar to the rest of the Street versions with front disc brake and rear drum brakes doing the braking duties and telescopic suspensions and dual shock absorbers on the front and rear, respectively.
